Once again I’m trying to catch up on some of the sessions that haven’t yet been featured on this blog. Just before his second birthday, I spent the afternoon with my sister in law and my spunky little nephew - and boy oh boy, did he make me work for my money!! One of these shots was printed on canvas as a gift for Jake’s Daddy’s wall at work…a daily reminder of who is waiting at home for him at the end of each day!

I drive twice a day past an overgrown “swampy” type of area, that in the afternoon, the sun pours into - kind of giving a glimpse of the mystery of what might be in there. I’ve always thought of the beautiful backdrop it would provide for a shoot. So, when my beautiful friend Leah found out that baby number 3 was on its way….the ideas started ticking!
So, when I mentioned to Leah and Yasser that I wanted to do their maternity pictures in a swamp - I was thrilled to hear that they were all in for it!! In hindsight I now know that their interpretation of the word “swamp” is vastly different from mine though!! They were thinking along the lines of “enlarged dirty puddle”…..whereas my swamp is more of an “up to your ankles in putrid black water, vines determined to creep up your legs and never let go and an after stench that is permanently ingrained into your nostrils” type of swamp!! But true to their word, through lots of giggles and with the support of some very concerned members of the public looking on, they stood knee deep in goodness knows what and looked pretty for me!!
Thank you Leah and Yasser for trusting me in the name of art!! I do owe you both ever so much!!

Weddings are funny things, they very rarely tend to just “fall into place”, but rather they are a result of some very meticulous and careful planning. The wedding of Cassandra and Adam on Saturday was the epitome of precision - all pulled together by the bride, her Mum and two very dedicated bridesmaids. However, the ONE single thing that they could not control was the weather….. and out of control it was!! All week we have been seeing rain clouds more than the sun, but the weather “experts” promised blue skies and a clear day…..well they lied!! It rained!! and it rained some more….and then on the way to the Chapel..it FELL down!! But, as some testimony to the dedication of these girls, somehow, from somewhere, the sun came out and revealed the most beautiful afternoon for the marriage of Cassie to Adam.
Cassie and Adam, thank you for letting me witness your day. It was truly a very special day, so full of love and happiness from all who attended. And Adam, for a man who hates having his photo taken - you certainly managed to turn on the charm! Cassie…you are just gorgeous!
Also, a big thank you to Caroline for assisting me on the day. Couldn’t of done it without you!

When my dear friend Paula called me in tears to explain that *ahem* somehow her camera was now broken, it took me a while to realise…..she wasn’t actually worried about the camera itself, more the fact that Emalyn was about to have her half birthday the next day and she couldn’t take any photos of her!! So lucky for me, Paula had just given me a wonderful excuse for a whole heap of cuddles and a quick 10 minute shoot with Emalyn! Sadly though, money was the only thing was able to fix the poor camera! Happy half birthday Emalyn!

A little while ago (read 6 months ago!), Naomi (Naomi V Photography) asked me to come along and assist at the intimate marriage of Melissa and Micah. Their ceremony took place just below the front steps of Melissa’s parents home, meaning that whilst the guests mingled around the family home, we could disappear off into the bush that surrounded the property.
